The Last Sunflower

There wasn't time to plant and take care of a garden this year,
what with selling and moving,
but this lone sunflower managed to survive from seeds
dropped last fall.

It surprised me when it grew tall and blossomed, as we
hadn't watered it at all, but let the rains take care of it.

It was as if the garden we usually planted with vegetables and flowers
wanted to sing out a last good-bye with this one last sunflower,
and to remind us that...

wherever we are,

wherever God plants us,

we will live

and grow

and flourish

as long as we turn our faces towards the Son.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
look full in His wonderful face,
and the things of earth
will grow strangely dim
in the light of His glory and grace.

What sweet thoughts, Laurie. I love the way you bring out such precious thoughts from the every day things of life. I like your sunflower and that song is a favorite of mine.

Bless you and your family. My two grandchildren are here with me for the weekend to give their mom a rest. Our third grand is expected any day now. God is so gracious. Hope you and yours are well.

Hope all is happy at your house. I scrolled down to catch up with your more recent posts - love the pics of Eli and Jack wearing boxes. :)
