Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

November

A month of thankfulness ~

~ the joy of family get-togethers around the table

~ a cozy blanket with a good book and a beloved child

~ a warm fire with a cup of tea in the evening light

~ the last of the falling leaves and harvest of fields

~ the first of white snowflakes and the making of snowmen

~ woolen sweaters and mittens and rosy cheeks

~ the delightful smell of roast turkey, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie

 most of all,

my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

You may remember this beautiful song by Don Moen,

Give Thanks
written by Henry Smith

Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks to the Holy One,
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks to the Holy One,
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say "I am strong",
Let the poor say "I am rich",
Because of what the Lord, has done for us

And now let the weak say "I am strong",
Let the poor say "I am rich",
Because of what the Lord, has done for us
Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks unto the Holy One,
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks unto the Holy One,
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say "I am strong",
Let the poor say "I am rich",
Because of what the Lord, has done for us
And now let the weak say "I am strong",
Let the poor say "I am rich",
Because of what the Lord, has done for us
Give Thanks!
Give Thanks!
Give Thanks!

And the thing is, we have so much to be thankful for.

This was beautiful, as usual.

Hi Laurie, I have always loved that song-you've got in going around in my head now. Such a grateful heart you have and are inspiring us to be grateful. Thanks and blessings on your day.

Hi Laurie! Another great video! And it's so nice to see a post from you too.

What a gift of thanks I owe God for all he is trying to do for me. In that thanks, I will become stronger.

I am thankful for much of the same things that you are...especially the blanket and tea! And of course, our grandchildren.
Thank you for a post that teaches me to say 'thank you' more often :)

We used to sing that song all the time, it was a favorite of mine. There is much to be thankful for, I enjoy reading different people's list because it helps me to realize how much I too have to be thankful for.
Blessings to you
