A quick hello

I seem to have less time to post these days...

because I'm spending 5 days a week with this little guy...
and at age 1, Ben keeps me on the go!

Maya joins us 2 days a week...
which doubles my fun!

And visits from Jack and Eli are always a joy!

I wouldn't have it any other way, for all of this time with
our grands is an answer to prayer.

It seems I also have less time to visit blogs, and I hope to catch a few when time allows.
Until then, I leave you with one of my favorite verses,
This verse is such a wonderful word picture
of His love and protection over us,
and I love how it has been illustrated.

Blessings to you,
   Laurie

See you in Sept., Oct., or November???

So, the house is looking very messy, full of boxes and STUFF, and it is time for me to
pull the plug on the fun stuff like blogging and Pinterest and facebook until we get settled
into our new house at the end of November, or maybe sooner while we live with Erin and her
family in the interum. In fact, I'm not a big facebooker, and  I was going to
stop facebook, when on that very day, 1 dear person
from my past and 1 dear niece friended me, and I just had to connect with them!
But I cannot justify taking time to do any of this for now.

(just a couple of spots of cardboard land)

I hope to read blogs while at Erin's, but they have lousy internet service, so it may be
just a chance to read your blogs and see how you all are.

But I may not be able to get many posts in...

Well, maybe a few new house photos and pics of the JEMS.

Well, ahem, we'll see what happens.

Facebook, it is so long, good bye until we
get into our house, because where Erin and Co. live,
facebook isn't allowed, due to the kids that are treated there.

Anyway, we are moving NEXT WEEKEND (Sept. 17-18)
and part of' the following week, and I have lots to do.
My family and a few friends will be coming to help
pack and clean and lift and
whatever else needs to be done.
And that means prying my fingers away fron the keyboard,
except for email - I"ll  keep checking that.

And, oh, yes, we are also getting a new roof put on our "now" house...

...as our cottage is getting it's roof put on!

I am sure grateful God is in control of all things!

So, for now, as the song in my head says:

I'll be alone each and every night
While you're away, don't forget to write
Bye-bye, so long, farewell
Bye-bye, so long
See you in September...

In case the song is going through your head, you can hear it here:

Time for The One and Only

It's time. My heart tells me it is time to take a blog break, at least from posting new posts for awhile. It is time for me to read and not write, time for me to listen and not speak, time for me to pray and not be anxious about anything. It is time for me to spend time in God's Word more than I read other books and more than I spend blogging. I'll stop by your blogs from time to time, because He has given me a sisterhood with many of you that blesses me so much. I am looking forward to the break in that it means more time with Jesus.

In her book, My Heart's Cry by Anne Graham Lotz, she writes:

As I have poured over the Scriptures, my heart has cried out for more than
just enough...
to escape a fiery hell.
to be saved from God's wrath.
to call myself a Christian.
to manage my guilt.
to get a ticket to heaven.
to squeak through heaven's gate.

I long for more than just the bare minimum God has to offer.
I long for more that what the average Christian seems to settle for.
I long for everything God wants to give me.
I long for more than enough...

to bend my will!
to awaken my conscience!
to break my heart!
to transform my mind!
to overcome my prejudices!
to soar my spirit!
to conform me into His glorious image!
to give me an abundant entrance into heaven!
I long to be saturated in Jesus!
So please, dear God,
just give me MORE...

(My Heart's Cry by Anne Graham Lotz, 2002)

I can seldom read John 1 without tears or a tenderness in my heart, especially when I read verse 14:
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The One and Only...it is time.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made;
without Him nothing was made that has been made.
In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it...

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Where do I blog?

I am SO glad that I heard about this blog party when my blogging spot was somewhat neat - much neater then it sometimes is! Even though we have 2 spare bedrooms, they are upstairs, and I prefer to be on the main floor. My blogging corner is behind our sofa in our living room, on a sofa table.

I love having pictures of my family on the walls nearby, along with...

...Lucy laying on her dog bed, keeping me company!

This table works quite well for using the computer while watching tv, talking with
my husband as he relaxes in his old-and-needs-to-be-replaced recliner,
looking out the window as people walk by our house, and, well, eating...

Yep, this is pretty common, except I had to use a "cookie model" as I had already
eaten the one that was there just before I read about this blog party!

I love this mouse pad that is actually a memo mousepad with paper
to jot things down.. It is from Galison; lots of fun stuff there!

I'm also glad this area was as neat as it gets, because it
often looks like a paper bomb went off.
Especially if the JEMS (grandkids) are here..
They love Nana's computer spot, especially since they can reach the printer:
ON.OFF.ON.OFF.ON.OFF
You get the idea.

So, that's it! Now it's YOUR turn! Where do YOU blog??
There are lots and lots of blog nooks just waiting to show you their stuff!
Come see at Centsational Girl!
