Location, Location, Location

We've all heard the quote, "Location, location, location". We are a diverse people, and we live in diverse locations. I live in a small town in an old neighborhood in a century-old house. It is a two-story house that has some nice but not fancy architecture. It fits our family well; we raised our 2 daughters here and it is a good place to gather together now that they have their own families. This is an older picture of our dining room and it looks about the same now.

I'd love to vacation at an English cottage, complete with an English country garden.

Perhaps you live in a back country log cabin, with a picturesque view of a mountain stream...

...or maybe high above the cityscape in a loft apartment, close to the downtown coffee shops.

I'd love to roam the rooms of this stately Queen Anne Victorian...

...and I have a soft spot in my heart for the craftsman-style bungalow.

As I get older, I want to be home more and more. I love the comforts of home and I love being at home with my family. But I know that this is not my permanent home, and I look forward to the ultimate location, my forever home being prepared for me even now. Talk about location!

In My Father's house, there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back
and take you to be with Me that you may also be where I am.
You know the place where I am going."
John 14:2-4

Oooh, what a wonderful post, Laurie! I loved looking at all the locations. Your dining room looks very inviting. I would truly enjoy sitting there and chatting over a cup of tea with you!
I think the Queen Ann Victorian is my favorite of the other pictures. I love the big wrap around deck, the air of mystery about it, the simple but elegant beauty & the lake.:) I would love to sit on that wrap around porch & watch the kids play in the water while sipping tea. But....the best location of all is our eternal home. I love how your mind works. This is a beautiful and profound entry. Thanks for sharing it!
