In Honor of Our Mothers

How thankful my husband Lauren and I are for our mothers. My mom, Doris, lives in Wisconsin and is coming for a visit in June. This visit will be especially sweet, because both of our daughters and their husbands will be living here now and all 3 of our grandchildren, so she will have the opportunity to be with them, something that wasn't possible when she lived in Arizona.

This will be the first Mother's Day since Lauren's mom, Gert, passed away last fall. She lived in Iowa her entire life, and she so loved the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is greatly missed by each of us.

A Mother's Love

A Mother's love is something that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . .

It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falter seven though the heart is breaking . . .

It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . .

It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . .

A many splendoured miracle man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.

Happy Mother's Day to our 2 daughters, Erin and Sara! How wonderful it will be to celebrate together! You are such wonderful mommies to our JEMS, Jack, Eli and Maya. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Oh, Laurie. What sweet pictures. So nice of you to remember your moms and I pray the Lord will draw near to your husband on this first Mother's Day without his mom. I know from experience how difficult it is.

Happy Mother's Day, to you and to your daughters as well. It's so wonderful you'll all be living near each other.
