“Honor your father and mother”
—which is the first commandment with a promise—
“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”
Ephesians 6:2-3
Ben was showing me his new trick:
he can now roll over from his back to his tummy,
and I thought of the verses above as he flipped over and shared the
words on his onesie.
I love that these words from Ephesians are the first commandment
with a promise, and they are a reminder to me that we should honor our parents
no matter our age or even if they are no longer with us.
I am thinking on these things and the other posts shared at

Look at that boy growing! And, getting stronger and learning new things :) So very cute! I can see why this verse came to your mind and I like that you shared that it doesn't end even after our parents are no longer with us.
A joy that you have linked this sweet post to Think on These Things ~ Thank you!
What a perfect reminder to honor our parents...in life and death.
Ben is so sweet...love the onsie, looks like he's honoring them already. : )
What a precious baby! I love the verse that you have used.
My husband has a tumor on his salivary gland and will be having surgery later this month. I hope to be back posting by June. Take care and have a blessed weekend.
