We've been in our new home for nearly 6 months, and we are slowly getting settled.
Lauren built this bench for our entry...
as well as this window box...
and the front porch is a favorite place to relax...
We have been slow to hang things on the walls, but we recently hung this above our bed...
I plan on hanging a variety of things according to the seasons or my own whim.
I got the coat rack from Heather @ Post Road Vintage...
where she creates and sells delightful items for farmhouse decorating.
Go see her!!
Now, if you look close, you will see a little bit of reality outside these kitchen windows...
It's a little hard to see, but right out these windows there is one of these...
a dumpster for construction debris,
and this...
a perpetual pile of construction dirt.
We remember that other neighbors lived through the building of our house, and that
soon we will have wonderful new neighbors next door.
The main thing is, this is still Nana's and Grandpa's house,
and more than anything, we love to fill it with the sights and sounds of our family.
Sometimes, though, I think it should be named Lucy's House,
because when the grandkids come, she is the one they run to! :)
With this sweet face, I don't blame them!

Oh, everything looks just lovely!
First of all, I want to say that when I see Nana and Granpa written I smile. You see that's what I called my grandparents.
And second of all, I love your new place. The window box is awesome. That is something Greg and I have been looking at to brighten up our new place. Nothing like flowers but since it's triple digit heat in Phoenix right now that may have to wait.
I've always loved white picket fences too. It looks so inviting and homey.
I think you're doing a fabulous job on your place. We've been in ours for several months now and still have much to do. But it's a work in progress. Maybe one day I'll post the before and after photos. The before were so bad I didn't want to show them to anyone but it's looking much better now.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
