The Joys of Flower Gardens

This is a favorite place to sit in the cool of the morning...

a stepping stone my mom gave me

an old watering can at the birdbath

broken pottery and pinecones to keep the kitties at bay
(sharp edges in the soil, of course)

a sunny spot on the patio

It is such a simple joy to spend time tending to the flowers and to sit nearby, enjoying the beauty of God's creation. I do not have large expanses of flowers, but the little flowerbeds I do have add such nice color to our yard. I am always blessed when I am able to visit the flowerbeds of friends or even on blogs. One of my talented blog friends shared her beautiful flowers on her blog today and introduced me to The 2010 Garden Tour that can be found at Notes From a Cottage Industry. I hope you enjoy the garden  tour and that you have a wonderful weekend!

Oh, can I come and sit with you at this beautiful spot and read a few chapters of Scripture with you. I can't think of a sweeter place to be. So lovely!

Morning Laurie

Your garden (yard) seems the perfect spot for some "me" time. To relax, read, have a lovely cup of tea and to be grateful for what we have been given in our lives.I love time like that!

Have a great weekend, Jackie in UK.

I love garden tours, and yours is beautiful, Laurie! Beautiful colors and a shady place to read - just perfect!
I wonder if broken pottery & pinecones would keep the bunnies out of my flowerbed? It's certainly worth a try! :)
Thank you for visiting me - it is always a joy to hear from you!
Hugs,
Zuzu

Thank you so much for sharing your pretty garden with us. I have several old watering cans that my mom no longer wanted in my yard, too. Perhaps you'd like to come visit me and see my flowers. I never seem to plan ahead and didn't link up on the Garden Tour. Blessings to you and your family. ♥♫

I sure enjoy your garden pictures. They are so inspiring. I'm really a bit discouraged this summer w/ my garden because I have no idea where to start. There was nothing here when we moved in. Texas gardening is a whole new challenge because the earth is clay/loam. I'm learning though! Planning on just planting Texas natives.

Hi, Thank you for stopping by and becoming a follower. It's fun to have people with the same interests for friends! It's going to be hot again (100), so I need to get out to do the watering. ♥♫

So pretty, Laurie. This was such a pleasant visit. These are the best blessings more than all the riches in the world.
